We take great pride in working with our recommended suppliers. In return we refuse to receive any commissions or monetary payments, but do expect our suppliers to recommend us. If we all work together, then this could be a wonderful thing.
This will give our clients a monetary advantage when choosing a supplier.
A lot of venues, agents, wedding planners expect up to 40% as a commission, which is added on to the bill to the clients, which is not disclosed. In return the supplier has to pay the venue or agent a commission to become on their 'list' They are generally called 'our partners' or 'list of preferred suppliers' that they work with.
We think that this is a terrible way to do business and you are limited to using the venues own suppliers, not always getting what you want. eg do they offer bespoke menus / services/ can it be personal to your requirements. It doesnt mean the suppliers are bad at what they do, it just means they have to (client has to) pay to work there. If a client is paying for the use of the venue, surely everything else comes with the price?
You are always better going direct due to the fact that your direct supplier will work for you bespokely and not be limited to what they do. Your price will be much more competitive for the same, or better service supplied at a venue or with an agent. eg Have you considered your hair, makeup done at home, this could save you a fair amount
